Islam is derived from the Arabic root "Salema": peace, purity, submission and obedience. In the religious sense, Islam means submission to the will of God and obedience to His law. Everything and every phenomenon in the world other than man is administered totally by God-made laws, Submission to the good will of God, together with obedience to His beneficial Law, ie, becoming a Muslim, is the best safeguard for man's peace and harmony.

How do you balance the Salah with a busy work schedule?
As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu. I just want to know examples of how you all manage to make all five prayers while being subject to today's hectic work schedules. I currently work at Burgerking and I want to apply for Walmart. I've expressed with my Manager that I am muslim and that there are times of the day where I need to step out to pray. And she is fine with that. However, I fear that at walmart (since it is a larger company) the management may not be as lenient and they may not accommodate me to such a degree. I just wanted to hear how everyone else on here formats their lives around the prayers.
Thank you! :)

NEED HELP! Muslim Grandfather Was Cremated. What To Do?
Hello all, My grandfather was an Indian living in Uganda. He converted to Islam after thrown out of the country for political reasons. Unlike most Indians there, he considered Uganda his true home and was devastated when he was forced to leave. He was never the same after this and looked to alcohol for comfort. He was the only Muslim ever in the family and because of a disconnect with him, all his children never thought to bury him according to the Muslim faith. This all happened before I was born, and as I am going to Uganda in a few weeks with his ashes, I desperately want to know what to do, if there is anything. Please help, and thank you for reading.
