"God is great, but not greater than feminism"

I cannot wrap my mind around how a Muslim woman can claim to be a feminist and a Muslim at the same time. Unless, they reject either some core beliefs of feminism or some core beliefs of Islam.

Allah, being all knowing, knew that feminism would exist in 2018 and that one of the core tenets of feminism would be that there can be no prescribed gender roles between the sexes. There is no "leader" of the family. No patriarch. Yet in the Quran, Allah clearly states that men administer women. Not only that, men have the power to punish women who do not follow the rules that they established. Regardless of whether or not you agree that men have the power to hit their wives, they clearly have power to punish their wives.

I cannot understand how a Muslim women wouldn't agree that her husband wouldn't have this right. I cannot understand how a Muslim woman wouldn't agree that her husband has authority over her. Allah clearly stated that he does. Is Allah wrong?
