Last year in Nov I began speaking to men to get to know them for the purpose of developing a long term relarionship. I have always had men interested me but was focussed then on studies and my career and passions.
Marriage isn't something I need, but it is something I want. I want a partner, I want a close friend and I don't want men always talking to me I want one.
I am Lebanese, the most patriarchal country in the levant. So this guy gets to speak to me, and I dont take it seriously I say to myself I dont want to get to know men anymore and I'll give him a chance but it probably wont work out but he's the last guy I'll be speaking to for a long time.
Ahhh turns out we really clicked. Wow. Subhanallah.
Anyway, were both mature young adults who study, work and serve the Muslim community. The problem being he is Iraqi. I'm not sure if it matters on this thread - we're both sunni - we also live in a western country
However my parents would go crazy if I didnt marry a Lebanese
This mans actions speak for himself. And he a great person.
How can I make this work? And no. I am not interested in running away. I have conservative values and highly respect the family structure like most cultures.
Another factor: My entire family lives in one state, but he lives 11 hours away in a different state w his mother and sister. his father and brother live/work in dubai.
With that being said I would highly appreciate your answers or any links to previous threads. I would like to marry this man. I have not yet introduced him to my parents.
