I hope it's okay that this question isn't exactly religious, but there doesn't seem to be a sub for asking Iranians. A book series I read (Brimstone Angels) uses the name Farideh, and I noticed googling that it's a common name in Iran (as far as I can tell all the Wikipedia articles about women of that name are about Iranian women), but couldn't find the origin. I know most names trace back to some historical figure, so I was curious who "Farideh" was?
