I was reading about a girl named Juliana Wetmore, she was born without a face or facial muscles, needless to say it's pretty disturbing and even though she's had 45 surgeries it's sad to say this girl is never going to live a normal life.
I read other articles and post on Reddit about people who have kids who are severely disabled, practically brain dead vegetables that will need 24/7 care for the rest of their lives, always being in constant pain and misery, money needing to go toward taking care of them etc.
I know that in Islam, abortion isn't looked upon favorably, but if you knew your child was going to have severe deformities or down syndrome and live a life of constant pain and misery would you abort the fetus?
I don't have kids but if I did and they had an issue like this, one fear I'd have is that one day being gone and leaving them alone with no one
Also I was reading this
http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/islamethics/abortion_1.shtml#h2
And apparently it's OK to abort for the childs sake before 120 days
