What Madhab do you follow and why? I’m a convert, and I’m trying to understand what everyone follows. My late husband was Iraqi, and he followed the Hanbali Madhab. Do people usually follow them based on where they’re from/something else?

If you follow a certain school of thought, how does that affect your life in terms of how you practice as opposed to other Muslims? I hope I’m wording this right, but I just want to gain a better understanding. Thank you!
