Hi, I’m not a Muslim but my neighbors are. They are always very friendly, have taken care of our mail a lot of times, and tolerant of how loud my other flatmates are. They’ve also invited me for dinner a lot but I’ve never been free (it’s always a Friday night and I’m exhausted that day). I don’t want them to think I’m being dismissive. I was thinking of maybe leaving them some flowers one day with a note - would that be weird? Is a different gift more appropriate? I ask because I once nearly gave somebody from a different culture ‘funeral’ flowers and I’m aware that I don’t know much about Muslim culture.
