best ways to study islam in the uk?

salam everyone, i've been inspired by my recent coming to faith to give back to this ummah as much as i can and so i have embarked on a journey for knowledge. But i don't really know where to start and again most of my friends are not muslim, in fact 99% are not practising. I've managed to find myself a quran teacher and learned around 1 chapter of by heart now with pin point tajweed, so im really serious about this goal of mine. i've realised that although learning the quran off by heart is awesome i want to actually be able to understand it, not only that i'd like to help with issues the ummah is facing at the moment. I find this deen really beautiful from what i've learned about it in relation to the quran and the sunnah and so i'd really like to press on with this.

where is the best place to learn arabic in order to understand the quran? can i do this online or do i need to go back to university? which is the bet uni, what are the best online resources?

also islamic studies, where could i find out more about this from a non sectarian viewpoint, do i need to go back to university for this too?

how do i become an alim exactly? every course i've seen needs you to be under 25 </3 in order to enrol, do i have to go to a boarding school?

what about going one step further, becoming a mufti? someone who can contribute to islam, how do i do that? do i need to go to uni again or what? how does this all work in islam.

thanks
