Sometimes we make Duaa’ for help in things that we need to figure out and make clear because we find ourselves in a tight spot. Whether mentally, spiritually or even physically. Hence Allah ordained that we would call onto Him at least seventeen times a day, saying “Guide us to the straight path” / “Ihdinna Al-Serat Al-Mustaqeem”.
But many times we find that our duaa’s are still hanging, we are still confused, and not really sure about how to act in a certain situation. We often mistake this for a late response, or its not the right time, right now. “Allah does not want to guide me man, I am clearly still not there yet. We still down here, and will be until push comes to shove”, thats just an example of the fleeting thoughts we have when asking for guidance or clarification doesn’t come.
Right after Surah Al-Fatiha, its Surah Al-Baqara. The Surah starts out that this is the Book, in which carries the guidance for those that are conscious of Allah. Allah literally answers our plea of: “Guide us to the straight path”, just 2 verses earlier. And so, this whole book, is our answer for this guidance that we have been asking for. For us to explore and learn. Ultimately extract the gems we can find for the sake of our journey.
Its like begging our professor for our final grades by the office all day, when the grades are already posted online a week ago. The professor never did us any wrong by making us wait all this time, we were simply not paying attention.
