Are we normalizing haram relationships for men?

I have the impression that it is viewed more and more normal to have a relationship while being a muslim man. Even religious men are having girlfriends and are cheating on their wives. More and more cases are becoming evident. Not only famous muslim intellectuals and preachers but also cases in my own community are so disappointing and lead me to thinking: If a muslim brother that I deemed very religious is capable of doing this - how can I believe others (that don't seem that religious at all) are not having haram relationships?

Recently, I came across a video of a sister who whitnessed a woman in Masjid al Nabawi that cried after she had been deserted by her man that went with another woman. In the 2nd holiest place! On top of this humiliation, the officials at the mosque area invalidated her suffering by not believing her! Can you imagine? What strikes me deeply is that these aren't just single cases. What's wrong with muslim men and why do we as a society contribute by not taking women seriously and playing down sins that are committed by muslim men, and of course by the way we are raising boys and girls..
