Question from a non muslim.

My apologies if I am offensive at any point, or by asking on this subreddit, I assure you that being offisive could not be further from my aim, I only seek greater understanding.

What is the view of most muslims of hadiths (as I believe they are called, I mean no offence if wrong, the term in the christian bible would be verses or lines, but essentially individual commandments), anyway, that deal with areas of day to day life that could be considered by some to be trivial?

I use the example of a commandment as to which foot to place into footwear first as an example, is this a similair situation to the christian banning of mixed fabric in that it is viewed as not essential or how are commandments which focus on minor details normally dealt with as it were.

I personally find Islam fascinating, I was raised with no religion and I will admit to not feeling any great pull to theism however if I were religious, Islam thus far has seemed more logical than most. (I also repeat that if I have caused any offence it is completely unintentional.)
